Bio: Chrissie is a qualified Nature Conservation Biologist (Btech at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) and an avid artist specialising in sketching and illustration. She has recently developed a love for writing especially concerning her and her husband’s travels and adventures and topics about conservation matters. She and her husband, Daniel, (also a qualified Conservation Biologist – MSc at the Percy Fitzpatrick Institute of Ornithology at Cape Town University, South Africa) have recently returned from Peru where they worked as Resident Naturalist in the Tambopata Rainforest for four months. Currently they both work as freelance nature conservation consultants and spend their days doing bird surveys for various proposed wind farms in South Africa. Chrissie is also assisting in the coordination of the establishment of a Hope Spot in Plettenberg Bay and has experience in writing ecological management reports and in the development and illustration of Outdoor Environmental Education booklets for various NGO’s. In the past, she worked as the administrator and coordinator for the Plettenberg Bay Community Environment Forum and as an actress for the Lunchbox Theatre doing environmental education through theatre. She hopes to use this blog to develop her skill in writing and sketching with the hope that her experience will inspire others.
